OK so, after looking around the net for some answers on the whole topic of sodium and what it does to the body. I found that eating to much sodium can cause fluid to pool around the heart causing it hard to beat regularly. This is the leading cause of congestive heart failure. We don’t want that, now do we?
Oh an of course there is the little matter of high blood pressure which I found is not so little after all. In the past I never worried about having high blood pressure because I didn’t show any signs of it. Now of course, I feel a lot differently. I now know that I can go on for ages with high blood pressure, and if never tested or detected could very well lead to heart disease and or stroke. I didn’t know that if I have high blood pressure it would require my heart to work twice as hard.
Osteoporosis or brittle bone disease is another condition that is linked to high sodium intake. Taking in to much sodium will cause the calcium in our bodies to be pushed out threw urination.
Well, that is some of the negative things I have found while looking around the net this morning. None of which are very attractive. I am going to think twice about eating foods that contain massive amounts of sodium. Aside from all of the above mentioned disease and conditions caused by over use of sodium, for me, the worst in the bloating and irritability. I hate it. It takes me a week to get rid of the fluid added to my body from eating dinner at Pizza Hut just one night.
